KUALA KANGSAR – A still smouldering body believed to be a murder victim was stumbled upon by passer-by near a river in Kampung Talang Hulu here, yesterday.

Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the body believed to be that of a female victim was discovered at about 3.05pm.

“Kuala Kangsar district police received a call from a member of the public yesterday on the discovery of a smouldering body without (any) identity near the river.

“Police were immediately dispatched to the scene and confirmed the finding. They were also assisted by a forensic team and dog tracker (K9) unit there,” he said in a statement.

“The body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Kuala Kangsar Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death,” he said.
